We (Rural Support Programmes Network) facilitated an exposure trip for the government officials from the federal and provincial governments of Balochistan and Pakistan to Nepal in June 2023. The European Union sponsored the official trip under the “Balochistan Rural Development & Community Empowerment (BRACE) Programme” and while the Rural Support Programmes Network (RSPN) took the lead in organizing the team in Pakistan, our wonderful hosts in Nepal were the Institute for International Development (IID).
The week-long trip focused on local governance and decentralization and the participants learned by meeting top Nepalese officials involved in designing the Nepalese constitution and overseeing the reforms. Participants also visited several communities and municipalities in and around Kathmandu and Pokhara. The staff from Institute for International Development (IID) were professional and friendly and we thank them enough for the hospitality and learning experience over that wonderful week. I hope there is more collaboration between RSPN and IID, and between the two South Asian friendly countries of Pakistan and Nepal.
Institute for International Development (IID) provided us excellent services about the “Conducting research and consultation for identifying gaps on the laws and policies of Child Labour and trafficking” under Combatting Child Labour and Trafficking through Policy Enforcement-Preparatory Phase Project. IID and it’s experts conducted this study at the Dang, Banke, Bardiya and Palpa districts of Lumbini province. BASE Nepal pleased to declare the experts quite useful study for thh BASE Nepal and Kailash Satyarthi Foundation India.
